In the context of its keenness to raise the capabilities of youth in the process of monitoring hate speech and raising awareness of the mechanisms and tools that can be used to extract speech from media outlets and the Internet, Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights held a training workshop on “Mechanisms for Monitoring and Documenting Hate Speech,”, It discussed the nature of hate speech and Its characteristics, laws deterring incitement to hatred, as well as the integrative mechanism that can be employed in data collection operations. The workshop ended up with a set of strategies on how to measure hate speech on specific issues, highlighting the measures and proposals that can be taken to combat the phenomenon.
