Statement1

Although the political leadership that has the supreme word in the country declared that it is with full democracy and appealed to everyone to work and reach that, some dark bats still insist on bringing us back, armed with their powers imposed on us by fate in every position, and we tell them in full mouth that your authority and your ability no matter how long Whatever its source, it will not drag us back and the train of democracy by the will of this proud people will run over everyone who tries to stop it.

We, Maat Center for Legal and Constitutional Studies, a member of the Independent Committee to Monitor Parliamentary Elections in Giza Governorate, confirm that the electoral process within the various districts of Giza Governorate has been marred by some violations and abuses, most notably: -

Failure to provide complete information on the locations of the electoral commissions, and to deprive some of the candidates from them, and to prevent them from our observers. Some police officers in Al-Amrania attacked the observer of the center when asked to do so.

Violating the rules of propaganda outside the committee’s headquarters by NDP candidates as well as the opposition.

Deceiving the candidate, Montaser Al-Zayat, the candidate of the categories in the Bulaq Dakrour district, and giving him an electoral number, which is the 29th, then he was surprised when casting his vote to change his number to 28.

The disagreement of some statements declared outside some committees with the ones inside the committees.

Opening the door of committees to voters is late in some committees.

· Some voters affirmed that secrecy was chosen when voting.

Not allowing observers of civil society organizations to enter the committees by some judges under the pretext that there is no permit from the Supreme Committee supervising the elections and not recognizing the historic court ruling issued in favor of civil society organizations with the right to control.

Some policemen assaulted observers by beating and insulting, withdrawing their personal IDs, expelling them from the front of the committees, and raising weapons on our observer at Al-Aqwaz Preparatory School in the classroom in an attempt by security men to terrorize everyone so that they can support the National Party’s candidate, Major General Saad al-Jammal, former Qena Security Director

· As for the most serious violations, it is the Supreme Committee that supervises the elections refusing to grant permits to some civil society organizations because they are running on other than the identities of those in charge of that committee.

We will monitor what is found regarding the entire electoral process.
