After the fall of the regime, using the peaceful methods guaranteed by human rights conventions and the constitution, “reform” calls on the armed forces to preserve rights and freedoms during the transitional phase

The Egyptian political system fell after nearly 40 years of control of the government, and only the peaceful methods and mechanisms guaranteed by international instruments to protect human rights and the Egyptian constitution that remained in place throughout this period were used in the process of its fall.
Now that the January 25 revolution has reached the end of its success and has accomplished what all political forces collectively failed to accomplish throughout the period of this regime's control, it is imperative that each party and every stakeholder present his assessment of what happened and his vision of what should happen so that we all contribute to Egypt's crossing of the stage. Transition to the state of welfare, democracy, justice and respect for human rights that the Egyptian human rights movement has been calling for and for which the Egyptian human rights movement has been working for a quarter of a century.
The Egyptian Alliance for Change and Stability "Islah" would like to highlight its assessment of what was and its vision of what should be in the following points: -
1- The January 25 Revolution and the days that followed was a model for what movements for peaceful change in societies should be, and it revealed beyond a reasonable doubt that the Egyptian society, with all its sects and segments, is a society that deserves democracy and social justice, as it is able to assume its responsibility and owns its culture rather than as Some of the leaders of the previous government used to say about the lack of this culture among the Egyptian people.
2- The youth who exploded the (25) January revolution represent a living testimony to an entire generation that has not taken its right to legitimate political participation over the past decades and has closed in the way of participation in decision-making mechanisms, whether within the state's political organizations, or even the political parties and traditional opposition groups, but What they did on (25) January and afterward confirms that they possess the capabilities and energies according to which they deserve full participation in the political scene-makers and the management of state affairs.
3- The Egyptian Alliance for Change and Stability “Islah” stresses the praise of the national and responsible role of the Egyptian armed forces, which proves every day that it is the nation’s shield and sword in war and peace as well, and that it is the protector of the legitimacy that the people accept and seek. The coalition appreciates the efforts of the military organization and its evacuated leaders in Protecting the demonstrators and not interfering to prevent them from exercising their legitimate right for a period of eighteen days, bearing in this way a great deal of effort and perseverance that only the Egyptian military establishment can afford.
4 - The Alliance affirms its vision, which it announced at the founding conference two days ago, related to the need for the new constitution and its complementary legislation to raise the ceiling of freedoms to the maximum limits, emphasize the civility of the state, and fully adhere to all international human rights covenants and reduce the powers vested in the President of the Republic, and emphasize complete separation And complete the three authorities, and provide guarantees of integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
5- The coalition calls for the process of drafting the new constitution and the complementary legislations to begin as soon as possible through an independent committee composed of constitution jurists, chief judges and representatives of the various political spectrums, provided that the formulations are subject to an expanded dialogue with civil society organizations, parties and youth groups before the referendum or approval thereof. The coalition is to complete this matter quickly and not in a hurry in order to ensure that the transitional phase is reduced on the one hand, and that the constitution and complementary legislation come with formulas that have national and popular consensus on the other hand.
6- The coalition calls and encourages all young people and other citizens who participated in the (25) January revolution to resort to it directly in the event of a request for legal support or exposure to persecution or intransigence of any kind and from any executive authority, and also calls on everyone who was subjected to a violation during the recent events to Resorting to the coalition to help him access the mechanisms of redress.
7- During the next phase, the coalition will contribute to presenting proposals for formulations of the constitutional articles to be amended, and it will also participate in the process of enhancing awareness of the importance of the constitution to ensure a broader participation of citizens in adopting it.
Finally, the coalition calls on the Supreme Council of the Egyptian Armed Forces to continue its national role in preserving rights and freedoms during the transitional period and not to resort to imposing exceptional situations unless an urgent need so requires.
