Twelve Libyan face the danger of death sentence

At a time when many of the human rights organizations in many Arab countries to abolish the death penalty, especially in political crimes, however, there is a lot of death sentences still issued by the judiciary in some Arab political crimes and crimes of opinion.
The Egyptian coalition against death penalty extremely worry about the continuous of Libyan Judiciary of issuing the death sentences for political crimes and the imprisonment of who expresses their different opinions.
Where twelve men face the dangerous of sentence to death in Libya who accused of political crimes, such as overthrow the regime, possessing weapons and interview an official from foreign government, although the Libyan government pledged to abolish the death penalty but that the men threatened sentenced to death as result of planning to peacefully demonstration , as well as the disappearance of two others since they have been arrested and these men were charged with terrorism and were described as "terrorists" as stated after the releasing the Bulgarian nurses and the Palestinian doctor.
Therefore appealed to the Maat Center for Judicial and Constitutional Studies "Egyptian coordinator of the Alliance Against the Death Penalty" Libyan government, especially the judiciary Libyan not to issue death sentence in the case accused of terrorism and overthrow the regime as it has done before in the case of the Bulgarian and Palestinian physician.
It also calls on all international organizations and human rights organizations appealed to the Libyan government, Libyan courts not to issue death sentences in the case of the twelve accused of terrorism and also the implementation of pledges of Libyan government to abolish the death penalty.
We do not want more death sentences for political crimes
