Immense human tragedy experienced by residents of Alqbabat village of Atfeh district that is 30 kilometer far from Cairo . In the framework of Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights' interest in monitoring and following-up this tragedy through citizen's voice project's activities, Maat has produced press reportage which reveals its dimensions in front of decision-makers, media and public opinion. Human tragedy experienced by Alqbabat , is represented in the sinking of entire village in the swamp of wastewater for more than 14 years, which led to the fall of hundred of homes and degradation of hundred of acres as well as the spread of typhoid and other infectious diseases among the village's children. Reportage reveals bad model of indifference of the governmental and executive authorities in dealing with the vital problems of the Egyptian citizen. As we put this reportage in front of the current government and Giza's governor , we at the same time demand from the mass media to do its part in fostering the issue of the Alqbaba village's residents who are nearly 20 thousand citizens living in this daily tragedy.
