On the sidelines of International Women’s Day and the 58th session of the Human Rights Council, Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights is organizing a side event entitled “The Rise of Violence against Women in conflict zones due to irresponsible Arms Transfer”, which aims to discuss the role of weapons in increasing cases of conflict-related sexual violence, their relationship to responsible arms trade, and their humanitarian repercussions.
