The project targets qualifying a group of non-governmental organizations’ staff at Ezbet El-Hagana and Mansheyat Nasser districts in order to train 1520 youth students, graduates of technical schools, and others who dropped out of schools in order to engage them in the labour market in the next phase. The training program takes two weeks and is expected to close by the end of the coming week.

This comes in the framework of the Skills to Succeed project implemented by Save the Children in association with Maat Foundation for a year and a half in the areas of Ezbet El-Hagganaand Mansheyat Nasser. The project aims at improving essential success skills as well as the economic development of youth and women in order to create job opportunities for Egyptian youth in the marginalized communities.

The project includes a range of integrated and interconnected activities. It provides youth with training on numerous essential skills, in addition, it provides opportunities for vocational, professional and practical trainings in specialized training centres and established businesses. The project also helps youth who have already been trained to apply for employment opportunities. It also mentors the entrepreneurs to start small businesses and micro enterprises and provides the necessary fund.

The project is implemented in partnership with a group of technical schools and associations in the mentioned areas. It works on mobilizing community support to provide the targeted youth with access to employment opportunities, through communication with businesses and other stakeholders within the targeted communities.

It is worth mentioning that this project comes within the framework of expanding the scope of work of Maat Foundation in the issue of development of the marginalized groups and youth at risk in the underprivileged areas.
