Maat's oral statement from the 17th Annual Conference of Protocol V on Explosive Remnants of War (ERW), from inside the United Nations Palace in Geneva, where Maat called for pressure on Israel to refrain from using explosive weapons with wide-ranging effects in populated areas due to their expected harm to civilians, especially children.
Maat also stressed the need to provide logistical and material support to the Libyan state to help it conduct a survey to clear its lands from explosive remanent of wars
