During its participation in the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council, Maat Ali Foundation followed up on the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Afghanistan, where Maat asserted that the Taliban does not want to be treated as a state that respects human rights and continues to contradict itself. While demanding recognition from member states, it continues to pursue policies resembling militias.
Maat recommends that the Human Rights Council pressure the Taliban to rescind the arbitrary decision to ban women from university education, and to immediately release activist Narges Sadat and all prisoners held in Taliban prisons.
