Maat for Peace: The historic peace agreement signed in the Central African Republic in February 2019 formally ended the armed conflict. However, the signatories to the agreement continue to commit various human rights violations, leading to the agreement's expiration in 2021 and a complete deterioration of the humanitarian situation. Since the beginning of the conflict in 2013, 652,000 people have been internally displaced, and 734,000 have become refugees. Furthermore, approximately 3.1 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance and protection, requiring a rapid response from officials.
For its part, Maat for Peace recommended that the government and international actors work to build capacity and thus strengthen the integrated psychosocial support system, particularly for displaced children and women victims of violence and sexual assault.
