Maat finishes the Lawyers' First Training Course to Offer Legal Advice and Support for Families of Prisoners and Detainees.

Maat Center for Juridical and Constitutional Studies finishes today, Monday, the first training course that was held to train lawyers to offer legal advice and support for families of detainees and prisoners. The course was continued for three days form 9 April until 11 April, in Al Mansoura city, Dakahlia governorate.
Thirty lawyers- men and women- attended the training course from the following governorates: Cairo, Giza, Dakahlia, Alexandria, Almenia, and Asyoot. These are the six governorates aimed in the project of social peace implemented by Maat center for Juridical and Constitutional Studies supported by (United States Agency for International Development).
The following members perform the training course: in the first day, Mr. Saeed Al Deeb, lawyer, delivered a lecture about Emergency and Detention Law and the right of detainees and prisoners to work, and in the second day he delivered a lecture about family's keeping of detainee's education and about detainee's family rights. Also Mr. Mohamed Rady, lawyer, in the first day he delivered a lecture about protecting families of prisoners and detainees form social view point especially matters related to the wife and children, and in the second day he delivered a lecture about protecting families of detainees and prisoners, Personal Statute Laws, and practical procedures for detainees' families papers. In the third day, Mr. Mohamed Rady delivered a lecture about nature of stop-execution judgment before Administrative Legislation, and made a practical training around lectures' subjects and exchange experiences between trainees.
Trainees asserted the importance of training and of comprehensive realization of social, economical, and legal problems families of detainees and prisoners are suffering.
It is worth mentioning that Social Peace Project aimed at rehabilitate and rejoin families of prisoners and detainees inside society, and tried to spread peace culture, accept the other, reject violence, and to find legal substitute to regain rights as an alternative of using violence. The center is prepared to hold peace days during May, these days aim at gather the families in an entertaining social day to exchange dialogues with official and normal leaders inside aimed governorates, and to treated violence causes through educational and entertaining activities.
