Within the framework of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights following up on the humanitarian situation in war-torn Sudan, and in its advisory capacity with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, Maat made a number of urgent appeals to international mechanisms for the protection of human rights, urging them to intervene immediately to put an end to the repeated violations that the Sudanese state is witnessing. By the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, and work to encourage the start of a permanent humanitarian truce, and a return to negotiations in order to restore peace in the country.

Where the Maat Foundation submitted an urgent appeal to the special procedures concerned with the ongoing humanitarian crisis, and addressed the Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights while combating terrorism, the Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparation, and guarantees of non-recurrence, the Special Rapporteur on adequate housing, and the Special Rapporteur on the right to food , the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of migrants, the Special Rapporteur on the right to development, and the Special Rapporteur on minority issues, the Foundation also addressed the working group on the use of mercenaries as a means of violating human rights and impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination, and the United Nations expert on human rights in Sudan.

Commenting on the violations mentioned in the urgent appeal monitored by the Maat Foundation, Ayman Aqeel said; The international human rights expert, and the head of the Maat Foundation, said that the situation in Sudan has become a cause for concern on a daily basis, with the continued intensification of the fighting and the deterioration of the security situation, stressing the importance of international intervention by the United Nations to prevent the escalation of the situation and try to stop the fighting immediately, restore calm and engage in dialogue to resolve the current crisis. And to allow the people of Sudan to exercise their right to self-determination and development.

The human rights expert called on the parties to the conflict to comply with their obligations under international humanitarian law during the fighting and to take the necessary measures to protect all lives, including the application of utmost caution by all participating military units when carrying out operations to avoid direct confrontations or indirect targeting of civilians, diplomats and humanitarian aid workers. .
