The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights renews its warning against the continuing violence in the Darfur region in western Sudan, which deprives more than 14 thousand children of food and health care. The risks to children's lives are also increasing, as there are 1.1 million children suffering from hunger in Sudan.

These tensions led to the displacement of 2000 families, or about 10 thousand people, to the city of El Geneina, and another 200 families, or about a thousand people, crossed the border into Chad.
