As part of the Green Shift Project: Promoting Sustainability Practices and Lifestyles for Youth, Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights organized a virtual training workshop titled "Challenges of Green Shift in Arab Region and Role of Youth as Drivers in Their Local Communities," with the participation of 25 young people from Egypt and various Arab countries.
During the workshop, Maat provided an overview of Shift Project, outlining its goals and stages. Participants received an in-depth look at Sustainable Development Goals and 2030 Agenda, with a particular focus on Goal 13, which addresses climate action. This workshop also explored the challenges of green transformation in the Arab region and emphasized the critical role of youth as catalysts for change in their local communities.
Notably, the "Green Shift" Project is funded by European Commission's Erasmus+ program, which aims to enhance young people's understanding of sustainability and equip them with practical skills, involving nine organizations from nine countries: Armenia, Greece, Malta, Romania, Slovenia, Estonia, Hungary, Egypt, and Georgia.
