Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights held a training workshop titled "Citizen Journalism & Combating Misinformation" for a group of students from both public and private universities, including the Faculty of Communication and Media Sciences at Cairo University and the Faculty of Economics and Political Science at 6th of October University.

The training covered several key topics, including the role of citizen journalism in addressing societal issues, the importance of media literacy, responsible engagement with social media to prevent the spread of false news, and the significance of critical thinking when dealing with information.

Additionally, the workshop aimed to enhance participants' skills in verifying information using fact-checking tools, detecting misinformation, and authenticating images and videos.

It is worth noting that this training workshop is part of the Citizen Journalism Academy project, implemented by Maat to promote media literacy and combat misinformation.
