Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights condemns the arrest of the outgoing Government of # Al-Wefaq, a number of demonstrators against the backdrop of the protests in # Tripoli last Monday, in protest against the deterioration of living conditions, the spread of corruption and the interruption of services such as electricity and water, and the long waiting in front of gas stations.

Maat Foundation demands the reconciliation government for the immediate release of the detained youth without any conditions.

The Foundation also calls for the need to respect the right to demonstrate, to allow freedoms of opinion and expression, to provide safe spaces for peaceful protests, and to not deal violently with them.
