The Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist attacks that took place in the French capital Paris yesterday, corresponding to November 13, 2015, in which dozens of civilians were killed and injured, and noting its solidarity with the French people in their painful trauma and condolences to the families of the victims and the injured, it wishes Emphasize the following: -

1- Terrorism proves once again that it is directed against humanity as a whole, and does not target a society alone, but rather that it is a hostile activity and an organized crime directed against human civilization and the free peoples of the world aspiring to peace and security. That.

2- Comprehensive confrontation and uniting the international community is the only way to eradicate terrorism, eradicate its roots, dry up its intellectual and financial sources, and raise its political and media coverage. The world and its international and regional organizations must take into consideration the repeated Egyptian call in this direction.

3- Countries that provide cover and shelter for terrorist groups and organizations that adopt extremist ideology and direct their arrows to other countries, are now required to shoulder their political and moral responsibilities, clear their place and clear their lands from those outposts that are directly or indirectly responsible for the violence, terrorism and extremism that the world is witnessing.

4- Finding comprehensive political solutions to the crises in the Arab region, especially in Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq, and purifying these countries of terrorist organizations is necessary in the comprehensive war on terror.

5- Draining the sources of terrorism requires finding a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue based on two states, stopping the Israeli attacks on the Palestinians, and enabling them to establish their independent state, with Holy Jerusalem as its capital.

As Maat understands the motives behind the French exceptional measures to preserve the security of its citizens, it also calls on the world to understand the Egyptian measures that it takes for the same reason, and the Foundation calls in all cases that these measures be in the narrowest geographical and temporal range possible, so as not to disrupt the realization of public rights and freedoms.
