Maat Celebrates with the Prisoners Families During the 3rd Philanthropy Day

Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights completed yesterday the third Philanthropy Day for Maasra and Atfeeh residents, two of the targeted areas of the Integrated Protection for the Families of Prisoners and Detainees – Integration and Rehabilitation project, implemented by Maat Foundation and generously supported by the Swiss Foundation Drosos in Cairo and Giza governorates since 2012.
The Philanthropy Day witnessed positive participation from CSOs, volunteers, and voluntary youth groups including: (Social Service College-Helwan University-third year, Development Means Foundation, Alzohour Association at Kafr Kandil, and some of the project volunteers).
The third Philanthropy Day carried a message to the world demanding more caring, merciful and supportive attitudes towards the prisoners and detainees families, along with renouncing the negative stigma towards the innocent families.
The Day also witnesses entertainment, singing and puppets shows presented by the volunteers, as well as Q & A, cultural and entertainments contests, painting on the face, and capturing photos for the families.
In the end, Maat calls all parties consolidating with the marginalized families and children to support the prisoners and detainees families to become productive in the community as before.
