In the Framework of Responsive Decentralization for Citizens Rights Programme Hanns Seidel and Maat Conclude the First Workshop for Training NGOs Cadres

Good local governance base on integrated participation of four key components as follows; government, civil society, private sector, and local residents, when represented CSOs in NGOs play a pivotal role in achieving good local governance and supporting decentralization.

In this context, Hanns Seidel Stiftung – Egypt Office and Maat for Peace, Development, and Human Rights conducted the first training workshop for local NGOs cadres in Beni Suef on 12/13 April 2013.
The workshop came in the framework of "Responsive Decentralization for Citizens' Right" programme implemented by Maat in cooperation with Hanns Seidel Stiftung, the programme seeks to improve local administration conditions through raising the capacity of community actors and advocating decentralization, along with enabling women in the target governorates to produce community initiatives under decentralization.
The training camp comes in the framework of the activities of the program "Responsive Decentralization for human Rights" implemented by Maat in cooperation with Hanns Seidel Foundation. It seeks to improve the conditions of local administration in Egypt via developing capacity of community actors and advocating decentralization, along with enabling women in the target governorates to develop community initiatives under decentralization.
The training programme included several components such as; analysis for local development parties and partners and their different roles in local development process, NGOs tools to observe the performance of public service providers and potential mechanisms, community scorecards approach and how to be used by local NGOs, and decentralization, good local governance, and local system reality in Egypt under the new constitution.
It's worth mentioning that the workshop is one of five training workshops to be implemented during the next period by Maat and Hanns Seidel in Egypt governorates.
It is worth noting that this workshop is one of five successive training workshops that the partners will implement during the coming period in a number of Egyptian governorates.
