A call for experts to submit technical and financial proposals to implement a training program

“Building the capacity of volunteers to mobilize volunteer resources to provide educational assistance to children of prisoners' families.”

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights has the honor to invite experts in volunteer training and management to present technical and financial proposals to implement a three-day training program (9 sessions other than opening and closing), including the training material for the nine sessions.

The aim of the training manual:

Enabling the trainees to carry out a field visit campaign to various institutions and families in order to motivate them to provide educational aids to the families of prisoners and detainees.

Assisting the trainees and the project team in developing a plan for implementing the campaign and its follow-up mechanisms

The training workshop will be held for three days, including two training days based on the participatory approach, and the last day focuses on practical training and developing plans, as each volunteer is required to carry out 60 visits over a 24-month period from September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012

General background on the integrated protection project for the families of prisoners and detainees:

The “Integration and Rehabilitation” project mainly targets the families of prisoners and detainees, which are among the most marginalized groups and the least in terms of the extent to which the activities and programs of social, economic and legal assistance are directed to them. The project is implemented in six administrative centers and neighborhoods belonging to the governorates of Giza and Cairo, namely the center of Atfih - Hay Al Maasara - Hay Al-Basateen - Al-Khalifah district - Imbaba neighborhood - Bulaq Al-Dakrour neighborhood

The project seeks to improve the access of prisoners 'and detainees' families to their economic and social rights by improving the economic conditions of the families of prisoners and detainees in the targeted areas, providing mechanisms to improve the educational conditions of the families of prisoners and detainees and enabling them to integrate into society, and providing mechanisms for resolving family disputes, providing social counseling and legal aid. For families of prisoners and detainees 

The project relies on an integrated set of activities represented in building a database with the needs of the target group, implementing professional and vocational training activities and building basic skills for the target group, helping the target group to access job opportunities, financing small projects, obtaining pensions and legal aid, and mobilizing community resources in order to provide assistance Education for the families of prisoners and detainees, enabling young people and children to integrate into society through camps and excursions, providing legal and family assistance and advice to the target group.

Expected actions of volunteers

Within the framework of the project, Maat will implement a social giving campaign by training (30) young volunteers who will make 1800 visits of 60 visits per volunteer during the project implementation period (30 months), to both private sector institutions, civil organizations and families to familiarize them with how to donate, its methods and how to know Path of their resources they donated. Then, receiving in-kind donations of educational materials and preparing them for distribution to the needy families of prisoners and detainees, providing a database of children of families in need of assistance, their whereabouts and how to contact them so that those who are able can go directly to these families and provide them with assistance.
