Concerning: Item 3: Report of the Special Rapporteur on minority issues

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights (Egypt) presents this report to monitor and analyze the situation of minority rights in some countries. The United Nations Declaration of Minorities of 1992, in its first article, refers to minorities on the basis of national, ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic identity, and this article stipulates the duty of states Protect the existence of these minorities. In addition, there are provisions in human rights treaties that prohibit discrimination on various grounds related to minorities.

 This report was based on a methodology based on international conventions that criminalize discrimination against minorities, by collecting and classifying available information on the human rights situation of minorities in a number of countries such as Qatar, Turkey and Iran, as well as communicating with a number of activists, actors and local stakeholders in these countries from Order this report.
