Maat Foundation report on racial discrimination in Bahrain

Foundation progress Maat for Peace, Development and Human Rights (Egypt) (Egypt) This report is in the context of its interest in promoting respect for human rights in the Arab region, especially with regard to combating racial discrimination, in conjunction with the convening of the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination during its 102nd session, which is held from 4 August to 28 August 2020. This report aims to review Bahrain during that session.

Bahrain had ratified the agreement on March 27, 1990, and it was scheduled to submit the national report (the combined report of the eighth to fourteenth periodic reports) in 2007, but it submitted it on April 3, 2019, in which the State of Bahrain reviewed its legislative and constitutional position, and the measures taken I took it in order to fulfill the terms of the agreement. and then; During this report, we review the state's position on the committee, and the latest developments regarding the implementation of the provisions of the convention, as well as present some recommendations that will activate the articles of the convention on the ground.
