Legislation does not keep pace with Egypt's pledges to the mechanism, and terrorism and law enforcement authorities' violations are the main drawbacks

The report dealt with a presentation and analysis of the procedures related to fulfilling the recommendations of the universal periodic review accepted by the Egyptian government in March 2015, and assessing the progress in implementing those recommendations and the voluntary pledges that stem from them. The report included (19 axes) covering various aspects of the 223 recommendations accepted by the Egyptian government. Recommendation, and these axes included the following: procedures for the legislative and institutional frameworks, the right to life and combating terrorism, cooperation with international human rights mechanisms, freedom and personal safety, enforced disappearances, refugee status, the right to education, the right to health, the right to housing, The right to work, freedom of opinion and expression, the right to peaceful assembly, the right to freedom of formation and activity of civil organizations, the right to a fair trial, treatment of prisoners and other detainees, anti-corruption, combating human trafficking, women's rights, children's rights.

The report indicated that the current legislation did not keep pace with many of Egypt's pledges before the international mechanism, and it contradicts the provisions of the Egyptian constitution at the same time, as most of the components of the package of laws and legislative amendments that are required to be approved to reconcile legal conditions with human rights standards have not yet been completed, as the report indicated It was monitored from problems and violations at the level of social, economic, civil and political rights, many of which resulted from inadequate public policies and abuses by some members of law enforcement agencies and government officials, as well as analyzing the negative effects of the phenomenon of terrorism on respect for human rights in Egypt.
