International Day of Reflection on the 1994 genocide in Rwanda

After 26 years, the world remembers the International Day of Reflection on the Genocide that occurred in the country of Rwanda in 1994, as one of the largest genocides in modern history, at a time when the Rwandan authorities begin the process of extracting about 30 thousand bodies from a dam outside the Rwandan capital Kigali .

This newest site has been discovered, as prisoners who participated in the genocide are completing their sentences in prison and continue to provide new information on the places of burial of the victims of the genocide, in which more than 800,000 ethnic Tutsis and moderate Hutus have been killed in 100 days.

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights believes that the Rwandan model must be taken into account in any country with ethnic conflicts that are likely to go wrong with things for the worse, as well as taking into account the Rwandan economic renaissance after the genocide as a way to turn the pages of the past and start over again.
