Maat Foundation organized a virtual event entitled “Climate Change in Africa: and its Impact on Human Rights” in conjunction with the holding of Session No. (49) of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The event highlighted the extreme climate phenomena affecting the African continent and their human rights impacts, particularly the right to security and the displacement crisis. It also highlighted international and regional efforts to combat climate change.
