The death penalty ... a punishment against humanity !!!!

The Egyptian Coalition Against the Death Penalty expresses its concern about the continued application of the death penalty in some countries of the world, while the number of countries that have abolished the death penalty has reached 128.
In one of the most important countries in the Arab world, the most heinous crimes took place, which was the execution of three of the heads of the former Iraqi regime. The Iraqi Criminal Court ruled to execute (Ali Hassan Abdul Majid, the famous Ali al-Chemicalawi, Sultan Hashem al-Taie, and Hussein Rashid al-Tikriti)
In light of the calls by many members of the international and Arab community to abolish the death penalty, especially for political crimes and crimes of opinion, the court ruling was issued under unnatural circumstances and by a court belonging to a ruling system that came under occupation, so the judgment is described as having a political character, and this scene, unfortunately, happened before This is in light of the execution of Barzan Ibrahim Al-Tikriti, the half-brother of the deposed Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, as well as Awad Ahmed Al-Bandar, the former head of the Revolutionary Court, who were sentenced to death by hanging.
This punishment, which we call for its abolition, is carried out in a way that is inconsistent with international and humanitarian standards, which is what we observed in the execution of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein on the first day of the last blessed Eid al-Adha, which caused the resentment and sadness of the entire Arab world on this holiday.
To ensure a fair and equitable trial, those accused of war crimes had to be tried before international criminal courts or the International Court of Justice. Hence, the Egyptian Coalition Against the Death Penalty calls on the international and Arab community to review the death penalty and how it relates to the human right to life, to abolish this punishment that cannot be corrected, especially while ensuring a fair and fair trial for the accused before their natural judge.
