Announcement to participate in the workshops

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights announces, within the framework of its project “Peace Builders in Egypt: Combating Hate Speech in the Name of Religion” in cooperation with the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICED), the holding of a series of workshops targeting male and female university students , provided that this series will continue over a week and is divided into three groups, the first group will be held on December 3 and 4, the second group will be held on December 5 and 6, and the third and final group will be held on December 7 and 8, the applicant can choose the appropriate date and that Taking into account the institution to achieve a balance between the number of participants in the three groups and taking into account the full commitment to all precautionary measures for Covid-19.
A series of workshops will be held at the training headquarters of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights during the month of December, provided that these workshops will be run by some specialized trainers and the participation of a group of experts and public figures. I have the following:
The conceptual and defining framework of the phenomenon of hate speech and its types
The root causes behind the phenomenon of hate speech
The most important international efforts to combat hate speech
Phenomena resulting from hate speech, such as religious extremism, its causes and forms
Countermechanisms focusing on the role of youth and the negative effects of these phenomena on society and development
These workshops also aim to build capacities and qualify these young participants to prepare and implement a set of community initiatives and ensure their success as an application phase for what was addressed during the workshops. The Foundation will support some of these initiatives to implement them on the ground.
