“Integrity Coalition” issues its report on the first day of voting

In light of the work of the “Nazaha International Coalition” to follow up on the Egyptian presidential elections 2024, the coalition issued a report that addresses its most prominent observations during the process of following up on Egyptians’ voting at home from the opening of voting at nine in the morning until the end of the voting phase at nine in the evening. This report covers 10 Egyptian governorates that it follows. The coalition on the ground.
The “100 People” Integrity Coalition includes international observers, translators, local coordinators, and administrators, in addition to the coalition’s operations room, which works around the clock to follow the progress of the electoral process, moment by moment. The coalition plans to visit about 2,400 sub-electoral committees within 10 Egyptian governorates, out of a total of 11,631 committees nationwide.
The following are the coalition’s most prominent observations throughout the day:
The coalition noticed a large concentration of voters wishing to cast their votes in front of the polling stations in a large number of electoral stations, as citizens flocked to the polling stations minutes before the stations opened to voters.
The coalition noticed a slowdown in the voting process as a result of crowding in front of a number of electoral committees, which was noted this morning.
The coalition noted the availability of facilities for the elderly and people with special needs, to ensure their easy participation in the voting process, while providing cards designed in Braille to help people with visual disabilities exercise their electoral right.
The Integrity Coalition also noted the presence of popular marches near some polling stations urging citizens to participate and vote in the elections.
The coalition noted a good security presence in the vicinity of polling stations to secure the electoral process. This resulted in a state of stability and the absence of any quarrels or violations despite the intensity of participation throughout the day. The coalition did not face any violations during dealing with election committee officials.
At the end of the first day, we noticed a difference in participation rates between high and medium rates in a number of electoral committees, and limited participation in the last hour of voting in some areas.
The coalition noted a significant participation of women, with some voters accompanying their children to vote.
The coalition did not receive complaints related to the electoral process, while the operations room received inquiries from a number of voters to find out the nearest electoral commission, through the hotline that the coalition had previously announced.
The Nazaha International Coalition continues to follow the Egyptian presidential elections over the course of 3 days allocated for Egyptians to vote at home, in coordination with the coalition’s central operations room, which operates 24 hours a day.
