Ayman Akil: A year of grief and victims of terrorist operations

  Ayman Aqil, President of Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights stated that the year 2019 witnessed many terrorist incidents during the foundation’s symposium on terrorist groups between confrontation and development. Aqeel explained in numbers the terrorist operations and the resulting victims for the period from January 2019 to In mid-August 2019, 1,334 operations and armed attacks were carried out, resulting in the death of 5,906 victims.

 Each terrorist group had its share of these brutal crimes, as ISIS committed 308 terrorist attacks, which resulted in 1259 deaths, while the Taliban movement carried out 157 terrorist attacks, which resulted in 1154 deaths, and the Young Mujahideen Movement in Somalia carried out 54 terrorist attacks that caused 257 deaths. As for the Buku Haram movement, it has committed 70 terrorist attacks that left 487 deaths.

 Aqeel indicated that these figures show that we are facing more brutal terrorism and that we are facing an expected increase in such terrorist operations due to the development of capabilities and capabilities of these groups.
