The Maat Foundation condemned the practices related to the export of weapons to parties to conflict in countries suffering from armed conflict and their impact on children’s rights, with a particular focus on the occupied Palestinian territories and Sudan, by participating in an interactive dialogue with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Children and Armed Conflict, and in turn Maat recommended pressing countries to immediately stop providing any military aid that might be used to commit serious violations of international humanitarian law.
