The arrival of the members of the joint mission of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights to Geneva, which consists of four organizations: the Maat Foundation and the Partners for Transparency Organization who have a consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council, the International Alliance for Peace and Development in Geneva, and the International Consulting Group, which is the House Experience in the field of human rights and international mechanisms.
The mission includes 26 participants from eight Arab, European and African countries (Egypt, Kenya, Somalia, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Switzerland, and Latvia).
At the top of the joint mission's tasks is to train the participants on how to cooperate with the international mechanisms for the protection of human rights in a coexistent manner.
During its participation in the work of the United Nations Human Rights Council in its forty-first session, which will start on Monday, June 24, 2019, the mission will discuss the crisis of the return of foreign terrorist fighters in some European, Arab and African countries, and if their rehabilitation is possible, this is in addition to opening the file of corruption in the Middle East and its impact. Corruption on women's rights, by organizing two seminars on the sidelines of the session.
Mr. Ayman Aqil, head of the mission and head of the Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights, stated that the mission aims mainly to spread peace, accept the other and coexist with different cultures, with the participation of members from different countries and cultures brought together by the Union for peace and respect for human rights in all parts of the world and rejecting extremism and violence And terrorism.
Mennat Allah Abdel Raouf, the mission's coordinator and head of the international mechanisms for the protection of human rights in the foundation, said that all the participants met under the slogan “Unite for Peace,” and this gathering is the beginning of a major event for the mission during its participation in the work of the session in Geneva and will announce it at the beginning of the session.
