Maat Foundation newsletter for the 68th session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights

Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human Rights follows up the activities of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights in its 68th session. As an observer member in the committee, Maat Foundation participates virtually in the activities of the Commission today, and we review them as follows:
The committee’s work today focused on Item 5 related to the discussion sessions, and the right of states to respond to the most important things that came during the committee’s sessions, whether by the commission’s commissioners, in addition to a number of interventions by civil society organizations.
The committee started its work today by listening to the responses of the representatives of the Niger government about the comments made to it by the commissioners, as well as responses from the representatives of the states of Eritrea and Burundi, and today included a panel discussion on human rights defenders in Africa.
