Being honored Egyptian Civil Society Organizations Alliance for the Universal Periodic Review By inviting you to attend the press conference held under the title "The human rights situation in Egypt ... between the assessment of international bodies and national institutions" And that on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at exactly ten in the morning, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Cultural Club, located at 1101 Corniche El Nil, Garden City, Cairo (Entrance 1, Osiris Street).
The conference will present the results of the meetings held by the coalition delegation in Geneva on the sidelines of the 34th session of the Human Rights Council with officials of the missions of the member states of the Council, officials of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the presidency of the United Nations Human Rights Council and a number of international organizations, which are the meetings during which the human rights situation was discussed In Egypt in light of the recommendations of the universal periodic review.
The conference comes at a time when some confuse the legitimate and required communication with the UN mechanisms in order to improve the human rights situation in Egypt, and the rejected endeavor by some to gain support and political support for countries and systems of government in the face of the Egyptian state apparatus.
During the conference, the coalition will fully transparently reveal all aspects of the discussions that took place with international missions and UN officials, respond to suspicions and fallacies in this regard, and answer all questions related to the results of the 34th session of the Human Rights Council held in Geneva during February and March 2017, as the coalition will reveal His position on all issues raised regarding the human rights situation in Egypt.
