Human rights violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Palestine

During its participation in the work of the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council, the Maat Foundation commented on the general discussion under the seventh item on human rights violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Palestine, where the Maat Foundation welcomed the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories In light of the Israeli occupation forces' disregard of their obligations under international law and international human rights law.
The Israeli occupation forces killed 224 Palestinian civilians, including 61 children, during the year 2022, and arrested 7,000 Palestinians, including 882 children and 172 women.
Therefore, Maat recommends the need to conduct immediate, comprehensive and independent investigations into extrajudicial killings and to ensure accountability for the perpetrators and justice for the victims, and an end to the practices of arbitrary arrests, and the targeting of activists and civil society organizations.
