Maat Foundation for Peace, Development and Human rights concluded the third training workshop in the governorate of Sharqia on \"Strengthening the capacity for the development of the political participation of youth \", which is carried out by the Foundation in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany.\nThis workshop has been taken place under the interest of both Maat Foundation for Peace and Hanns Seidel Foundation for Political Participation of young people, especially after all the events witnessed by Egypt, turbulence and sit-ins Aat the beginning of the first phase of the historic elections in Egypt after the revolution.\n\nThe workshop aimed at training local journalists and officials in youth centers, those who can affect the rate of participation and motivate youth to be involved and can adopt electoral campaigns.\n\nIn training workshops, participants stressed the importance of improving training in youth centers as it is the place that can be gathered by the youth in the first phase, where young people can learn democracy, citizenship, and political participation.\n\nThe three days of workshop training were on political participation awareness and its levels, constraints, and the concepts and tools of human rights particularly the right to participate in accordance with international instruments to protect human rights. The audience emphasized that participation is right, and duty, as well as how to use effective communication skills and the local media and the adaptation of different applications in internet and social networks in mobilizing political participation of youth.\n\nParticipants were trained on the preparation of voter awareness campaigns and media campaigns to support the political participation. Each group was able to identify the problem and their solutions and put an implementation plan to achieve the objectives as well as the training was done to develop strategic plans for electoral campaigns.\n\nIt is worth mentioning that these workshops will continue through the phases of the elections and the election of the Shura council, and Presidential elections as the democratic transition will not be done without the participation of young people and encourage them to vote in the elections.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
