By presenting an oral intervention at the 55th session of the Human Rights Council in the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing, Maat Foundation denounced the bilateral agreement between the United Kingdom and Rwanda to deport refugees and asylum seekers who arrive in the United Kingdom, and considered it an illegal agreement that violates the International Covenant on Rights. Accordingly, Maat recommended that it pressure the United Kingdom to stop the agreement to resettle refugees and asylum seekers in Rwanda.
